• This class teaches students how to reset a lost password on a Windows computer.

Class Notes

1. Introduction
   1. You can reset a Windows Password, but not recover one
   2. If the Windows computer uses EFS (Encrypted File System) you will not be able to access encrypted data until you remember the old password.
2. Types of Software
   1. Free/ Open Source is good, but you have to read.  Pay for software gives you friendly GUI enviornments.
   2. We use Offline NT Password and Registry Editor
