Very imformative class. I will be be starting networking classes soon and your lesson helped me understand some basics in networking. tyvm
even if your classes weren’t true I’d still pay for it!
You are my networking hero!
sorry!
true=free
confused :S
You are brilliant teacher and a genius man.
This is a brilliant and a very valuable site. Thank you very much for the valuable videos and a great teacher. Keep going……………
Hi Eli!
Just wanted to get something clear concerning servers.
I think a server should actually be a software installed on a computer on the network and it provide shared services to the devices on the network that need the services(Clients).
My reason for saying this is because a computer can have more than one server installed on it.
ex. a printer server, cyber-café server and a shared file server or even a network mapping server can all be installed on one computer.
Please I’ll like to know if my reasoning is ok.
Thanks very much for the great jobs. My knowledge of networking is now getting organised thanks to your free video lectures.
Stanley,
That would actually be 1 server running multiples services. So a Windows Domain Controller Server would be 1 server running; Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, etc… services.
The only way this would be different is if you have a Virtualized Environment where one piece of physical hardware is running multiple instances of server operating systems
Thanks Eli!
Regards from Abudhabi ..
Eli,
Great series of videos! I have a question: In this video, you state that a router will let you out but will not let you come back in. I have a SSL VPN set up which can be accessed using either the device’s internal IP or one of my external IP’s with port 443 forwarded to the VPN device. When inside my LAN, on the same subnet as the VPN device, I can access the VPN device using the external IP address via a web browser. In this case, it seems that my router is letting me out and then back in. Am I missing something?
You’re not actually going “out”. Your router is redirecting you back “in” before you leave your network.
Can you create a VPN Tunnel using the external IP address when you are inside your network?
informative video!
Thank you very much ,
I am working as Level one tech support for an ISP this Video is much help to understand more network related issue.
good job
thank you so much for offering these valuable services. i really like the way you teach but i would like to suggest that if you can have a camera man, so that he can record everything that you write on the white board or pick up an equipment or accessory. also if you could please focus on the practical in your lectures, that will be an asset.
Amazing, brilliant, life saver
mucho mucho thanks
Hi Elie,
frankly speaking i`m very grateful with your lessons . As per now i`m seeking some advise from you.
I`m an aged electrical/electronics diploma holder which does not actually help me in this competitive world.
I`m apparently working with some isp company in the middlle east and iwish
to develop my knowledge in the IT field with some accademic skills.
Please give me some guidance how i can go about that.
Thanks.
The Microsoft self study books are very good along with Ciscos study books. Beyond that Im not sure what you have available. If you were in the US Id say to take a few courses at a Community College.
Thanks Elie for that reply but i`m of the view of taking up some courses like N+ , ccna…
Which one would you recomend for the start and might be required of me?
Thanks
I’m a guy who manages a Local Area Network (LAN) for my organization, your video presentaion made me to improve on many aspects in the computer work. Good job my brother.
Eli,
This post is not specifically about this video, in fact it applies to all of your videos.
May God reward you for blessing the people with knowledge. You explain complex things in simple language. Not everyone is blessed with this art. This world will be a good place to be if we have people like you.
God Bless you Eli!
hi Eli
thank you very much
hi eli
please i want to understand you said that the switch ,firewall ,router and modem are different logical but now can contained in one physical devices what this one device can do all these things
thank you
